Three Ways to Wear Leopard Print this Fall

It’s officially September and I can’t wait to write about the hottest trend for Fall 2020. You guessed it, it’s leopard print. I’ve been totally obsessed with leopard print lately. I never cared much for the print in previous years but this year there’s so many interesting ways to wear it I’m all in on this trend.

Here are some of my favourite ways to wear leopard print this Fall.

Look 1 – Comfy and casual tee

I found this leopard print t-shirt on amazon. It’s one of my favourite Fall pieces as it’s so versatile. Since we still have a few warm days left I paired it with a some jean shorts and my go-to Tory Burch flip flops. I accessorized with a hat for more of a Fall touch. You can also wear this tee with distressed blue jeans or black leggings and even throw a cardigan over it as the weather gets cooler.

Look 2 – Weekend maxi skirt

I came across this skirt while shopping at Suzy Shier. I was a little apprehensive at first but I’m so happy I decided to pick it up. It’s so comfortable and easy to wear for a relaxed weekend look. I have literally worn this outfit for the past two Saturdays. I paired the skirt with a simple white tank top and a jean jacket. To accessorize I added my fave Tory Burch purse and flip flops. You can also dress this skirt up by pairing it with a black long sleeved bodysuit or turtleneck and some booties.

Look 3 – Nighttime Glam

This is definitely my favourite leopard print look! I picked up this skort at Zara, I initially thought it was a skirt but was thrilled to find out it came with shorts 🙂 This is definitely one of the edgiest looks I’ve worn. I paired it with a pleather crop top which I also found at Zara and a blazer with pleather detailing that I had in my closet. This is a great look for a night out. For cooler weather I would pair the skort with some sheer pantyhose and pumps. You can also switch out the crop top for a black bodysuit or turtleneck.

My Favourite Fall Blazer

Can you believe it’s almost September? I’m not thrilled that Summer is coming to an end but I do love Fall fashion. I recently shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and stocked up on some Summer pieces. Living in Canada we unfortunately don’t have access to all the Nordstrom sale items before they sell out but I was able to find some similar pieces from Canadian retailers.Today I’m sharing one of my favourite Fall transition pieces.

I love this checked blazer I picked up at Dynamite. It’s a versatile piece that can be dressed up or down. There was a similar blazer that was part of the Nsale as well. I paired the blazer with a white lace trim tank top and high waisted jeans which are also from Dynamite.

You can also pair this blazer with a black tank top, or a white or black mock neck top. For cooler weather I would pair it with a turtleneck. I like that this blazer can be a casual or work wear look depending on how you style it. I was going for more of a casual look.

To accessorize I picked up this triple chain medallion necklace at Dynamite. It’s very similar to the popular Styled Collection medallion necklace but at a lower price point. I picked up these Steve Madden booties at the Nsale and they paired perfectly with the entire outfit. These particular booties run a bit small so I went up a half a size to a 7 in them.

I finished off this outfit with my favourite anniversary sale find which a purse from Tory Burch. You can wear it as a cross body or carry it as a clutch and the colours are just perfect for Fall.

Stay tuned for more of my Fall fashion finds!

Leaf Print Sweater Dress

Can you believe it’s November already! Although it doesn’t feel like Fall anymore (it’s gotten much colder here in Ottawa) Fall fashion is still around unlike some of the leaves on the trees. As it’s gotten colder I’ve switched out my Summer dresses for sweater dresses. I came across this comfortable yet chic leaf print sweater dress at Suzy Shier. The three-quarter sleeves and midi length of this dress make it a great workwear choice.

I love the leaf print as it resembles the leaves changing colour in the Fall. I paired this dress with some burgundy opaque tights as I wanted to pick up on the colour in the dress. I also added some matching burgundy pumps. In keeping with the Fall theme I found this adorable felt hat that went perfectly with the light brown colour in the print.

Fall coats are another item I love and I added a warm and cozy wrap coat to this look to finish it off. I picked up this coat at Suzy Shier and it comes in four other colours. I also got it in red – for Christmas perhaps?

P.S. Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year and I will be starting my series of holiday posts soon so stay tuned!

Faux Fur Vest

I found this ultra comfy faux fur vest from Dynamite clothing. Faux fur is the only fur I wear so this vest fits my style preference perfectly. It comes in 2 shades – cream and natural. I decided to go for the natural which is a darker shade and I chose it because it matches most of the outfits I own. The cream is a lighter brown and will look great with a black or dark brown turtle neck.

I’ve never really worn a vest like this before so I’m pretty new to the whole idea. To pull this look together I paired the vest with this white turtle neck top also from Dynamite. For the bottom I recycled this faux leather mini skirt I picked up from last year. The best part is it’s back in style this Fall as well 🙂 Isn’t it great to shop in your closet?

Burberry Inspired Duster

It’s Fall and with the strange weather we’ve been having here in Ottawa it’s been hard to keep up with what to wear every day. I came across this Burberry inspired duster from Suzy Shier that is just perfect for Fall weekends. I recently wore it on a trip to Gatineau Park to see the beautiful autumn leaves as they change colour. It was about 15 degrees that day and this piece was just right for the weather.

I love the camel colour of the exterior and the Burberry inspired print on the interior. There’s also a hood at the back if you’re feeling extra chilly. You can choose to dress this sweater down by pairing it with jeans and a tank top like I did or opt for a more formal look and pair it with coated jeggings or black pants. The best part is it’s a fraction of the price of an actual Burberry piece. Sometimes it’s nice just to be inspired 😉

Faux Suede Embroidered Skirt

The embroidery trend is so hot this Fall that I just had to share another great find with you. Embroidery is pretty much everywhere and I’ve noticed different trends being mixed and matched this year. For example Chinoiserie is totally in and is a great complement to  the embroidery trend.

Suede has been a Fall staple for ages and this year is no exception. This cute and trendy faux suede embroidered skirt from Forever 21 is perfect for Fall. I love the intricate embroidery depicting birds and flowers in keeping with the Chinoiserie theme. I paired it with a classic black turtle neck (a must have for Fall and Winter) and these fitted faux suede booties from Steve Madden. I decided to do a bare leg with the skirt but as the days get cooler you can add a pair of opaque tights – here’s where you can choose to play it safe and go for black tights or take a risk and opt for something brighter like a burgundy or a purple to bring out the colours in the embroidery. I also wore a fabulous parrot cocktail right that picked up at Unique Accessories, it seemed to match the birds on the skirt. If you’re looking for a piece that combines all the hottest Fall trends I highly recommend this skirt.

A Touch of Blush Pink

Fall is in finally in full swing, and while the usual autumn colours can still be found in stores there’s a new colour that’s totally trending right now – blush pink! Although blush pink or pastel pink is typically associated with Spring and early Summer it’s been a big player in the Fall Fashion scene this year. Blush pink can be found just about everywhere in sweaters, skirts, scarves and even pleather jackets and skirts. Pink is one of my favourite colours so I’m definitely loving this trend.

Here’s how I added a touch of pink to my Fall wardrobe:

I picked up this open front fall coat from Suzy Shier which also comes in grey. If you’re looking for a bit more warmth you can opt for this belted wrap coat which comes in a variety of different colours including blush pink. I paired my coat with this rose coloured Burberry scarf which can be found at Nordstrom. Although the coat cost considerably less than the scarf when you put them together no one can tell the difference. I decided to invest in the cashmere scarf as it is a high quality item with staying power. I still have my first Burberry scarf which I purchased 12 years ago and it’s in great shape. With Burberry you certainly get what you pay for. Maintaining the blush pink trend I also picked up this cute dolman sleeve sweater and this midi length ballerina inspired skirt from, you guessed it, Suzy Shier.
