A Romantic Getaway in Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls has long been one of Canada’s classic destinations for a romantic escape. At the Sheraton Fallsview, spectacular scenery is paired with Fallsview dining, a spa, and indoor and outdoor pools, creating a getaway with plenty to enjoy within the hotel itself.

Located directly across from the Falls, the property places Niagara’s most famous attraction at the centre of the experience. From the guestrooms to the restaurants and rooftop pool, the views are a defining feature of a stay here.

The Room

For our recent stay, we checked into the Canadian Fallsview Corner Suite, where beautiful views of the Falls were the main attraction. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the scenery, bringing the rushing water and rising mist into the room’s backdrop.

One of the suite’s standout features is its four balconies, including a step-out balcony. The opportunity to step outside, hear the roar of the water and take in the fresh air makes the view even more impressive. For couples looking for a room that adds something special to their getaway, this is a particularly memorable choice.

The setting changes throughout the day, from bright morning views to the illuminated Falls after sunset, giving the suite an appeal that extends well beyond a place to sleep.

Pools and Spa

The Sheraton Fallsview offers two distinct pool experiences. The year-round indoor pool provides a place for a swim in any season, while the seasonal outdoor Fallsview Rooftop Pool and Bar combines poolside relaxation with views of Niagara Falls.

Private cabanas are available to reserve on the rooftop, offering a comfortable space to settle in between swims. With a pool, bar and scenic outlook in one setting, the rooftop adds a resort atmosphere to a stay in the heart of Niagara’s tourist district.

A fitness centre rounds out the hotel’s recreational amenities for guests who want to keep up their workout routine while travelling.

For a quieter addition to the itinerary, Christienne Fallsview Spa brings wellness and the destination’s scenery together. Its relaxation lounge overlooks the Falls, while the treatment menu includes massages, facials, manicures and pedicures.

A distinctive feature is the Infinity Hydrotherapy Tub, which offers views of both the American and Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The spa’s stone and wood finishes create a soothing setting that complements the water beyond the windows.

For a romantic weekend, a spa appointment offers a lovely way to make time for relaxation alongside dining and sightseeing.

The food

Our stay included dinner at PRIME Steakhouse, located in the neighbouring Brock Hotel. Its menu features steaks, seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and local and international wines, while large windows showcase the Falls. The combination makes it an appealing choice for a classic steakhouse dinner with a particularly memorable backdrop.

Back at the Sheraton, Massimo’s Italian Fallsview Restaurant offers another dining experience with spectacular scenery. Chef Massimo Capra’s restaurant pairs Italian cuisine with ingredients from the Niagara region and a wine selection featuring Niagara, Italy and beyond.

Located on the hotel’s Fallsview Dining Level, Massimo’s makes an evening of dinner overlooking the Falls especially convenient. Together, the two restaurants provide different culinary experiences for a weekend getaway.

The hotel also offers the Fallsview Grand Buffet, Niagara Vines Lobby Wine Bar and Starbucks, providing additional options throughout a stay.

Niagara Falls After Dark

The scenery takes on a different character in the evening, when the Falls are illuminated in colour. During our September visit, the nightly fireworks at 10 p.m. added another highlight, lighting up the sky above the water.

A Fallsview room offers a wonderful vantage point for enjoying the display, bringing one of Niagara’s signature evening experiences into the comfort of the hotel. The fireworks operate on a seasonal schedule.

Exploring Niagara

The hotel’s location makes it easy to combine relaxation with exploring. Clifton Hill and Niagara City Cruises are nearby, while indoor connections provide convenient access to Casino Niagara and Fallsview Indoor Waterpark.

For couples, the appeal lies in having so much within reach: a suite overlooking the Falls, time by the pool, a spa appointment and dinner with a view. The Sheraton Fallsview brings these experiences together in a setting well suited to a romantic weekend in style.
